The Shack…

At this moment the equipment used is:

A Kenwood TS-590 for HF.

I use a Heil Pro-Set headset with HC-5 element with this rig.

Main VHF/UHF rig is a Yaesu FT-857D. This one is also used for mobile and portable operations.

I also have a Yaesu FT-817ND. This one is often used for weak signals operations like WSPR. Also used on portable of mobile operations. A wonderfull little rig. A little hungry on the battery while portable though…

A Yaesu VX-6E Portable.

Around Christmas 2016 I won a Airspy R2 and a Spyverter in a Twitter giveaway by one of the people behind this product, Youssef. He is also writer of SDR# , one of the leading SDR software products. This is a very good SDR combination. I tend to do all kinds of receiving with it, shortwave as well as Airband or digimodes like APRS, ACARS or ADS-B.

Antenna’s in use are:

ZS6BKW Wire Dipole, a G5RV like antenna. Very good on 80 40 30 20 and 17 meter, usable on 15, 12 and 10. I installed this antenna in Inverted V style. 2 * 13.75 meter wire fed with 12.5 meter 450 Ohm Wireman slotted line.

A ZX-Yagi 3 band vertical for 20/15/10 used with 1 tuned radial per band.

I have are a Daiwa CNW-419 manual antenna tuner and a LDG Z-11 Pro autotuner.

For VHF and UHF i use a Diamond V-2000 vertical for 6/2/70 an a Comet vertical for 2/70. The last is mainly used as receive antenna for the Airspy.

Software mainly used is, Airlink Express, FL-Digi, WSJT-X, Log4OM, N1MM+ and MultiPSK. For SDR I mainly use SDR#.
